Focusing on PC Repair and Optimization

When it comes to speeding up your computer the best and perhaps easiest thing you can do is to eliminate startup progams. This is were you basically stop program from auto loading when your computer starts. You are not deleting the programs, simply eliminating them from running at start-up.

A good example is Skype. This is an execellent program that many people use to stay in touch with friends and family. However most users rarely use the program yet it constantly runs on their computer. Why not just stop this program from auto running and simply start the program when you want to use it.

To stop programs from auto-starting you can go to each program one by one and under the options settings you will generally see an option to not let the program auto-start.

Another great way to help manage these auto starting programs is to use a registry cleaner like PC Health Advisor. This registry cleaner has a built in Start Up Manager that allows you to select the programs you do not want auto starting.

There is also a free option you can use and that is the built in Startup Manager in Windows. It's not as easy to move around in or even fully understand. In the run command type msconfig . You will get a dialog box that starts up. Now you can select the Startu-tab and un-check any programs you do not want auto-starting. Be sure to only stop the programs you know. Not everything should be stopped.
